Summer Learning

Registration dates vary depending on the program. Please refer to the Summer Learning homepage for updates and announcements from your school.

If you do not see a date for the program you are looking for please email summerschool@tacoma.k12.wa.us.

Summer programs are FREE to students who are currently enrolled, or will be enrolled, in the Tacoma Public Schools.
 

We offer summer programming for all grade levels. Programs are designed to meet individual student needs, teacher and schools work identify students and send invitations. As a parent, if you see a program you think your child would benefit from but have not received an invitation, please contact your school or the summer learning office at summerschool@tacoma.k12.wa.us

The Tacoma Public Schools Nutrition Services Department, in partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture, will sponsor the Summer Food Service Program for Children. All children (even if not enrolled) ages 1 through 18 can get a free breakfast and lunch at specified locations when the Summer Food Program is in session. You will need to identify any health concerns for your student when you register your student for a program. Our nursing staff will review and provide the appropriate support.

The Parent/Guardian is responsible for providing the required medication to designated program staff on the first day of summer school. Medication currently held at the school must be picked up prior to end of the regular school year, summer school staff will not have access to medications from the regular school year.

All Summer programs will follow public health recommendations.

New COVID-19 safety plans for summer and 2021-2022 school year
